Director and President - Popular Insurance, LLC / Adaptiv
Lic. Ramón Lloveras is President of Popular Insurance LLC, an insurance managing general agency, Popular Life Re, a reinsurance company authorized in Puerto Rico. Until 2004, he worked at Popular, overseeing its legal division before joining Popular Insurance, where he contributed in various capacities.
Before joining Popular, Lloveras served as General Counsel for Pueblo International, Inc., a major supermarket chain in Puerto Rico, Florida, and USVI. He launched his career at Fiddler González & Rodríguez, specializing in environmental law. His experience also includes working as a law clerk for Associate Justice Antonio S. Negrón García in the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.

Chief Underwriting Officer, Adaptiv
Javier Mercado, Adaptiv's Chief Underwriting Officer, has led an impressive career in the LATAM market over the past 15 years. Before joining Adaptiv, Mercado was Chief Operations Officer of Starr LATAM and Regional Manager of Liability, including its reinsurance unit, CV1919.
He joined Starr to launch their Financial Lines, Casualty, and Environmental portfolios in the region on a mission to institute policies and procedures and convene a team responsible for building a robust Specialty Lines portfolio. As a result, Mercado delivered over $12M in annual production in two years through reinsurance in Miami and a direct presence in selected countries.
He also contributed to AIG for over ten years, where he held several roles, being the last Head of Liabilities for LATAM. Along with a team of 60 underwriters, Mercado managed the region's largest Financial Lines portfolio and launched new wordings for D&O and new products such as Cyber and M&A.

Specialty Lines Practice Leader
Lizette Saldaña, Adaptiv’s Specialty Lines Practice Leader, joined Popular with an extensive background in Financial Lines. During her career she has developed technical expertise in Financial Institutions, D&O, EPL, Crime, E&O, Cyber and K&R products, in addition to the underwriting of captive and multinational programs. Her responsibilities extend to managing Adaptiv’s Sepcialty Lines portfolio, as well as serving Popular Inc.’s Institutional Program and Popular Re as an FI expert in the development and execution of program strategies.
Before joining Popular, she held the position of Executive Underwriter in the National Accounts Practice for Financial Institutions in AIG New York. In her role, she managed highly complex clients with international exposure, including leading financial institutions in North America. She started her professional career at AIG Puerto Rico, overseeing a variety of risk profiles, and eventually leading the underwriting of high-profile accounts, such as Puerto Rico’s publicly listed financial institutions. Her responsibilities included serving as Puerto Rico’s FI Leader for LATAM, lead underwriter for accounts with multinational exposure, and portfolio manager for a specialty lines reinsurance book from Latin America.

Head of Claims
Dignelis Jiménez joined Popular as Head of Claims, leading the company’s specialized risks practice in claims management for Adaptiv.
Prior to joining Popular, she was the Complex Claims Director for Financial Lines at AIG-Puerto Rico. Her responsibilities encompassed managing high exposure claims across Puerto Rico and Latin America (LATAM) for Specialty Lines, including but not limited to E&O, EPL, D&O, Crime, for both Financial Institutions and Commercial Accounts. Most significantly, she served as the Cyber claims practice leader for LATAM. During her tenure at AIG, she also enhanced her skills in underwriting specialty lines, focusing on commercial management liability. Her dual expertise in claims management and underwriting makes her a key contributor in the development of comprehensive risk assessment strategies and policy frameworks for Popular Inc.’s institutional program and for Adaptiv. Dignelis began her career as a trial lawyer in a boutique law firm representing insurance companies in torts litigation.
